Paul has been working in the UK solar power industry since he gained his Engineering masters degree.
Paul spent many years since then working for a large, national, energy efficiency and solar PV installer in the midlands as a PV systems designer and as an independent consultant working across the PV industry helping people to install PV system around the country.
Paul, and the teams he’s been responsible for, have has been involved in the installation of thousands of PV systems onto houses and around 150 larger PV systems between the sizes of 10kWp and 6MWp. Paul has engineered solar PV systems of many different types including systems for homes, office buildings, fire stations, warehouses & distribution centres, water treatment plants, police stations, hospitals, bare fields and sports centres.

Chris has been in the renewables energy industry since 2001, after getting his master of Science in low energy archetecture and renewable energy systems. He has worked for a number of companies and organisations since then, at the Building Research Establishment (BRE) in Watford where the first UK multi-technology scheme for grants was managed (the “Clear Skies” programme). Chris’s sought after industry expertise and knowledge along with his passion and commitment to quality within the renewable energy industry led him to create what is his crowning achievement and legacy in UK solar.
Chris conceived, developed and launched the MCS scheme . MCS sets the quality benchmark in the UK and regulates the entire industry. Chris currently serves as chair of the technical working groups which set the industry technical standards and serves on the governing body.
The MCS scheme was made possible by Chris’s commitment to quality and it’s this commitment that is fundamental to the culture that is enshrined in the culture here at Solar for Business.
With over 21 years’ in construction, Paul is a hands on guy that is responsible for overseeing everything that Solar for business does on-site pre and post project. He is a highly qualified Electrical Project Engineer and worked at EMCOR for 14 years’ building up a wealth of experience in one of the largest electrical/mechanical contractors in the UK.
Paul has managed a wide range of projects from Industrial buildings to sports halls to educational institutions to commercial farm projects managing all aspects of the project from installation, testing and commissioning.
